Eat Bitter, Live Better

Are you looking into alternative ways to enhance your health? As one of the world's most powerful superfoods, HTB has twice as much protein as quinoa, helps manage diabetes, protects against aging, supports digestion, boosts your immune system, promotes blood circulation, and provides essential vitamins and minerals

But why is bitter better for you? By eating bitter, you can live better because nutrient-dense foods like HTB improve your health!

Its Origins

Where did HTB come from?

Himalayan Tartary Buckwheat (HTB) originated in Southeast China and was brought to the Himalayas thousands of years ago, where the robust plant thrived under extreme conditions. HTB journeyed down the Silk Road to Europe in the Middle Ages before reaching North America, where it thrived due to its unique health benefits.

However, HTB fell out of favor due to its relatively low yield and bitter flavor. We believe Canadians are ready to embrace the bitter once again and reap the endless health benefits of HTB!

Why Buy HTB Tea and Food?

HTB is rich in nutrients

HTB has over 132 beneficial phytonutrients, making it one of the world's most powerful superfoods! These nutrients support multiple immune-related processes in our body, making this bitter product much better for our health!

HTB protects against aging

Oxidative stress is when your body cells become "tired" due to unhealthy particles (oxidants). The phytonutrient 2-HOBA, which is unique to buckwheat plants, helps protect against aging by reversing the damaging effects of oxidative stress.

HTB is full of vitamins/minerals

HTB is packed with magnesium, B vitamins, iron, and zinc. It also provides you with essential amino acids like lysine, tryptophan, and methionine. These nutrients help lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels while supporting hormone balance.

HTB helps with weight loss

HTB contains rutin, which is a bioactive that stops your body from making white fat cells. Instead, HTB helps your body make brown fat cells, which burn off much more easily. Thus, HTB helps you lose weight!

HTB benefits your immune system

HTB contains quercetin, an antioxidant that decreases inflammation while lowering your chances for diabetes, arthritis, hemorrhoids, Alzheimer's, varicose veins, cardiovascular diseases, and certain cancers.

HTB promotes blood circulation

Remember the phytonutrient rutin? It can also prevent the formation of blood clots, lowering your chances for heart attacks and strokes. Did we mention that HTB has more rutin than any other plant?

HTB supports digestion

HTB has high amounts of prebiotic fiber and resistant starch, which promote fermentation in the colon and support digestive health by increasing the amount of good bacteria. This boosts overall gut health and reduces constipation.

HTB benefits you and the world!

HTB is extraordinarily adaptive, making it beneficial for people, soil quality, and biodiversity! Unlike many other crops, HTB helps replenish nutrients in the soil, rebuilding the soil's structure and fertility. By eating HTB products, you benefit your health and keep the planet healthy!

All the above nutrients give HTB a natural bitter flavor. Bitter foods help stimulate the body's defense system, our digestive system, and can maximize nutrient absorption. If you're not a fan of apple cider vinegar, arugula, brussels sprouts, dandelions, radicchio, or kale, add bitter foods to your diet by eating our HTB products!
